Esoteric Primer Series

|

At the beginning of certain calendar years, Sodālitātes offer an introductory public lecture series on a variety of topics, including a mix of fundamental subjects which are likely to be of interest to the broader esoteric community, topics reflecting local expertise, and introductory material intended to provide the necessary foundation for the probationary level of the OMO curriculum.
Traditionally, the programme has covered the following subjects:

  • The Ordo Magni Operis: about us, our outlook, our mission
  • Truth: types of truth and how they relate to esoteric practice
  • Carl Gustav Jung: fundamentals of his system of psychology
  • Classical Hebrew: how to read and write it properly
  • Qabbalah: basic concepts
  • The Qabbalistic Cross and David’s Prayer: origins and some necessary correctives
  • Basic Astrological Symbols and Concepts
  • Ritual as Drama: how to be effective
  • Meditation and Visualisation: first steps
  • Rītus Portæ: the OMO ritual of empowerment
  • Alchemy: an introduction to the subject

As stated above, the Esoteric Primer series is a necessary first step towards membership, through which prospective members and initiate members of a local Sōdalitās can get to know one another and evaluate each other with regards to good fit. Generally speaking, this is a straightforward process and "good fit" situations tend to emerge naturally over the course of the programme.
